Columbiana Performing Arts Center Health & Safety Protocols

We are pleased to welcome students back to in-person classes here at the studio. Our staff have been working diligently to implement health procedures and guidelines based on the State of Ohio Guidelines for Health and Fitness, under which dance is classified to be able to offer the safest environment for all.
We are closely monitoring policy changes and public health organizations and will continue to make changes, as necessary. The plan below, coupled with personal responsibility, presents our best efforts to keep our dancers, families, and staff safe. (Updated As of 8/1/2021

Limiting Dancer Capacity
Per State of Ohio Guidelines, our class size limits will be set by allowing for at least 6 feet of distance between students at all times. Each student will have an assigned square and/or a spot on the floor and at the barre which will help to give dancers the optimal amount of space to continue practicing social distancing.
Dancer Belongings
Please arrive dressed and ready for class, each dancer will have a designated area for their belongings. Dance shoes can be changed into from our waiting room.

Studio Cleanliness & Sanitization
Following the CDC Guidance for Cleaning and Disinfecting, each studio will be cleaned and dance equipment and props will be disinfected between each use. Staff will frequently clean and disinfect all frequently touched surfaces (e.g., door handles) common areas (e.g., restroom rooms, waiting rooms), and equipment at a minimum every 2 hours while the facility is open and in operation. H13 HEPA Air purifiers are located in all 3 studios. All cleaning materials are EPA-approved disinfectants against COVID-19 per CDC guidelines.

Hand Cleaning & Washing
Hand sanitizer stations are at each entrance and inside each studio, you will be required to cleanse your hands upon arrival. All faculty, staff and dancers should wash their hands regularly. The CDC recommends this as one of the best practices to avoid transmission of the virus.
Restrooms
To minimize usage, encourage dancers to use the restroom prior to class at home. We will have one designated restroom per studio, sanitized regularly.
